Personally I LOVE the front of the S series, but the back just about gets by

I think the back looks a bit dated to be honest, and boring, where as the front is a cheeky little fella waiting to overtake everyone it can.

Has anyone modded their reverse lights? Can it be done?

Discussion thread here about rear lights - they are escort Mk4 and ford actually did a darkened version at the end of the mk4's life. There are various options to darken them.
I've just bought a dark green car and intend to leave the lights standard - I like the contrast.

While I am on it, can you buy new TVR badges for these cars?
Or is it easy to re paint them? The few models i have seen so far all seem to get let down from their badges

sorry as you can see from other threads I've been busy sorting the roof (now finished ). Once the boot catch is fixed (hopefully by mid week ) I'll start commuting in it again so I'll email you mid week ish to arrange a meet.

Back on thread the light clusters have dated a little but I don't like any of the round conversions I have seen.

The V8s bonnet is smooth while the other s cars have a vent forward facing.

I reckon you can remove all the paint from the badges with a sharp bit of wire or something, then repaint them and remove the paint from the silver bits, probably with your finger ! Or a latex glove might work better.
Mine has ropey badges so I'll let you know soon.

I reckon side view is pretty good too !

Yeah the side really does look the nuts, and that car looks great.
I have been thinking green could be the colour, but this may change when i see JTs red!

V8 then? ANy problems? it looks good, what price?
Oh and did you use that expert guy ? Rob it is?

Hi I've emailed you the price, I feel thats kinda private between me and the seller and I don't want it to be public.
Price was very fair though, interior needs a bit of tlc, seats need a clean and new carpet required (bit whiffy after water leak).
Got all important 12 months MOT though, with just a warn on slight wear in one of the front balljoints.
Very nice new wood on dash though.

Clutch is also a bit heavy so I reckon I'll have the engine out and fit a clutch this winter, and at the same time clean & paint the chassis in the engine bay. (Gearbox will probably have to come out too - I'll check this out nearer the time).

For the summer the plan is to drive and enjoy !

Always loved the front on look of the V8S, very menacing in the rear view mirror of the car in front , never been overly enamoured by the rear view though. It's sort of like the stylist lost interest (or budget) by that point .

Something that always gets me, not just with the S cars, but could they not make the stering column case leather aswell? The Plasic always seems to let the look down with gapping cracks.

I bought the fully smoked rear lights and never really liked them but I decided to recolour the red lights and leave the reverse and indicators the matching smoked colour. They blend in a bit more with the dark blue and look less like they are borrowed from Uncle Henry. I think it looks OK.

I think they suit the darker coloured cars better. I've seen a few green/blue ones that look superb, but I'm not really sure that they suit the brighter paint jobs.

Also keep an eye on that bird, think she has her eye on the car.

For me the jury is still out on the dark lights.
Remember if you darken the lights its reflectors that are the issue - without decent reflectors it shouldn't pass an MOT.
Obviously if the lights are stupidly dark and dim then it goes without saying thats a fail too.
