poor running on v8s

My V8S runs extremely well when giving it revs (hard not to) but when it slows down or comes to a junction then it starts spluttering and cuts out. It starts again relatively easily. Can anybody advise a solution- the garage thought that it might be the air flow system.

Have you cleaned the stepper motor?

That has been cleaned and the local garage has reset timing etc.
The car appears to run ok at cold but then when hot the problem starts.

"So if anyone out there experiences , after warming up. rough running, spluttering, misfiring, cutting out in traffic it could be a duff, worn out bit of wiring that only took one hour to fix. All the wires connected to the injector loom were very badly corroded. (sorry cant spell!) Therefore from what I understnd, inconsistant current to the injectors hence rough running and cutting out at the lights ! My car btw has done 52,000 so any car older than this should be checked imho. The mechanic had also renewed his on his own `S`.

Does your car have old wiring into a injector loom ?
When `cold` it was fine, ten minutes later when `warm` the `duff` corroded wires gave an inconsistant current, hence rough running and cutting out ! My car kept cutting out on the run. I had to keep switching the key off and on to keep it running. The mechanic who has just sold his `S` told me that this is a very common problem on the engine. Not sure about a V8 though.

I am sure this not the answer to every car running rough but it is easy to check !
