who was at Thirlmere today

Around 2.30 I passed a hotel near Thirlemere on my way to Ambleside and noticed a metallic red S in the carpark, non standard wheels but I was past before I could see any other detail...

Any of us lot ?

Description could almost fit me Kevin (well the wheels are S but not the later 7 spoke ones) but alas it wasn't. I assume you mean the Kings Head Pub/Hotel at the Keswick end of the lake - I've been there with the W Lancs/ Cunbria guys some time ago so could be a Cumbria haunt??

No, it wasn't me... but I wasn't far away! I was visiting my parents in south Cumbria this weekend. Obviously, I decided to avoid the M6 and took the scenic route instead:

1. A686 from Haydon Bridge to Penrith via Alston and Hartside
2. A592 from Penrith to Windermere via Ullswater and the Kirkstone Pass







These are cracking roads and I had them all to myself on Friday evening. Unsurprisingly, there were a few bikers and campervans around this afternoon though! Didn't see any other TVRs apart from a Tuscan parked up near Ullswater.

Is your S3 ready yet Kevin? Can't wait to see it.

Yep thats the one Jim. From the fleeting glimpse I got of it as we passed (in the old Pajero) it looked in good condition. I wonder who's it was...

Looking really good Kev - a credit to your hard graft - unfortunately don't think I will make the May meet as I'm flying back from Spain that day but would love to see the finished product, if your down in Newcastle and fancy popping in for a cuppa just give me a shout - you to Geoff.

I almost gave you a call at the weekend - it would only have meant a slight detour (and I'm all about detours these days...), but I thought you'd still be up to your elbows in hammerite and duct tape. How wrong I was!
