Replacment clutch on s3??

Hi all,
I'm wanting to replace the entire clutch assembly (inc release bearing) on my S3 while the engine and 'box are out but I'm not having much luck in what to ask for as a replacement.
I'm telling my local Ford dealer its a Sierra/Granada V6 with type N ' box, but he's as much help as a handbrake on a canoe.
Several other motor factors are more helpful but tell me theres two types dependant on the release bearing, none have them in stock for me to compare my existing one.
I cant see any pointers in the S bible either.
Has anyone done this/have the part numbers etc?
Any info would be greatfully recieved.

Best advice I can give is get the engine and box out, strip it and then get the bits using the originals to make sure everything is the same.
The engine was used on many different Ford cars and there are differences which can cause the type of problems you are experiencing. Also bear in mind that the Ford type N box with the 2.9 was not a common/natural Ford option so it may well be a hybrid combination with a 2.9 clutch and a 2.8 release bearing.

Having looked at the cover and friction plate today a bit closer, they have Motorpart P/N on, so this may help. ButI was thinking along the same lines with the realease bearing(2.8?)I'll degrese it tomorrow and see if any P/N are visable on it.
Needless to say, if I manage to uncover this mystery, I'll share the info to all

Sorry forgot to update this.
It turned out I had:
Sierra/Granada 2.9 Clutch cover.
Sierra 2.8 4x4 Clutch plate
2.8/2.9 realease bearing - same part for both cars.
I had all this confirmed from the Ford part numbers from the parts I took off.
As you cant buy the three items separatly, I went for a full 2.9 clutch (Borg&Beck - £100)
All went on fine and had no problems. I looked at it that it could had the 4x4 clutch plate as it was slightly more heavy duty, or it could have been a Friday afternoon at TVR in 1990 and that was all that was in the factory

Mark, Had no problems at all with it.
Except that the clutch master cylinder has since failed "They all do that Sir"
