Anyone got Pioneer DEH-P77MP ?

Has anyone got this stereo? I'm looking to remove it from its cage to check connections (it's gone dead) but it's not budging and I can't work out how it comes out.

The previous owner of the car can't remember how it was fitted and any fitting keys it may have had have been misplaced.

You can buy fitting/removal keys for just about all makes of ICE systems from Halfords. I'm not an expert, but I'm pretty sure that you just slot 'em either side of the unit and gently pull back...

You need the pioneer extraction tool, which is two bent bits of flat metal - which Halfords will sell you for a load of cash.

just checked and I have the exactly the same in my V8S! I also have the boxit came in and all the installation instructions etc. If you still need this info let me know and I can photocopy it and send it.

I downloaded and printed the manual off the web a couple of years ago. I think I need a set of those extraction keys but the Bristol Cribbs Halfords didn't have them. I'll try my local one soon.

pioneer radio keys are only flat strips of metal nothing special. they are about 6mm wide so anything flat will do even jigsaw blades.remove the trim surround and push your stips down the sides about half way up and this will push the locks out and then pull the radio forward.
PARTY is an e.q setting on the head unit others POP.VOCAL and other are pre programed.

or just take out the centre console which is two screws and get at it from the other side

If only they still made it, or there was something similar, I couldn't bear a whizzy/flashy stereo in the S and have away my old one with the S3
