S3 Instrument panel

Took the motor out on Sunday, noticed on my return home, the 'P' light (set of lights, between the two main clocks on the dash) was on when the car was in motion. Hand brake was off. Then as I built up speed, the light would flicker, sometimes off, sometimes on. I guess the 'P' light on the dash board means, hand brake on. Which leads me to think, mechanically all is well, but electronically, I have a dodgy connection, am I correct?

could be various things but probably just the switch loose. it's under the handbrake gaiter, just locate and tighten.
