Coolant pipes

Any body any ideas as to where to buy the coolant pipes top and bottom mine are a bit knackered to say the least.

I recently purchased a set of silicon hoses from ACT and the stainless pipes top and bottom too, but it was a bit of a nightmare, all in all it took from January until March to get them sorted.

Beware though, when I ordered the bottom pipe, it was sent and did not resemble the pipe on the car, I have an S3C and the bottom pipe is designed to pass around the cat, whereas the S1 & S2 have a shorter pipe. Apparantly this has never been seen before, but I suspect that no S3 bottom pipes have been requested.
This also meant that the silicone kit did not fit as they are not designed to fit to the different pipes. Luckily my car has been decatted, so I used the supplied pipes and bodges it to fit.

I would suggest trying TVR Car Parts (www.tvrcarparts.com), they have always been excellent.

try ACT for tasty but expensive silicone hoses.

If like me you want a cheaper option my local garage managed to find a replacement for the lower radiator hose from a landrover , it fits and has been fine for the last 500 or so miles.

ps mine is a 2.9 v6 s

Just went to check the lower radiator pipe, it seems to be resting on the chassis cross member underneith, I dont remember this from before it was "fixed". Maybe the landy spare wasn't such a good idea - could someone tell me if the lower rad pipe normally touches the chassis? (I suspect this may accellerate rust which god knows is the last thing any S needs).

Before I replaced the lower pipe and hose it was suspended from the chassis by a bracket, but now I have replaced it with the shorter pipe it 'floats' (suspended by each end of the pipe) but is defiantely not touching anything.

Mine is just the same, except there is a heavy duty plastic tie slung around the top chassis rail to suspend the pipe!

Mine definately doesn't touch..
I dont know what people are paying for the stainless pipes but I got mine from the company named on the link below (which is the one I bought) I also got 2 90s to make a top pipe with a tapped hole plate to fit better Otter switch to.

I paid about £80 for the top and bottom pipe (excluding otter), plus postage to ship back and forth a few times to be made usable

Hi guys maybe i should have been a bit more specific.I renewed the bottom pipe out of stainless tube, also the top 90 degree elbow likewise, the problem is the otter switch, i cut part of the old pipe where this sits and joined it all up with the relevant hoses. The problem now is ,when the engine is under load it has a bad habit of blowing one of the hoses off where it joins the old otter switch part.A new pipe section including the t piece and seat for the otter switch is whats req. Ill ring around next week, and will let you know how i get on.
