my car has started to grind but only when i put it in reverse
is the gearbox buggered??
plus every now and then i get a loss of power and a stamering of the engine, the only way i can find to stop this is to rev it abit then its ok for the rest of the time im running it.is my s world falling apart??

They all do that sir. Put it in 3rd before you put it in reverse.

Mine does that too but it's only very slight and very occasional... I put it down to character (mainly out of laziness).

Might be the plugs fouling if you have the wrong plugs in or it is running too rich or you are doing too much 'city' driving. Take it for a good blast from time to time, the car will enjoy it as much as you do.

cheers lads i got new sparks from a ford dealer mate of mine does anyone know what the gap is

Andy,

May seem a daft thing to say, but are you pressing your clutch all the way down before selecting reverse?

When I first had mine I never and I had the same problem. If you are, then your clutch may need bleeding, that seemed to help on mine.

Not that I'd notice now as after only 2.5 months of owning mine I now have the engine/'box/suspension/rack all off

The plug gaps (dependant on plug type) are 0.8mm(0.028in) for RC7YCC, or 0.7mm(0.032in)for RC7YC
