Cooling Fan

Any ideas? My cooling fan is running constantly even when turning ignition on from cold.

I would imagine that either your otter switch is faulty ie stuck closed or else the terminls on the switch are touching each other and by passing the switch,pull either wire off the switch ,if it stops its the switch.

Failed otter switch or stuck relay.

you dont have a fan over-ride switch somewhere do you ? may be its switched on... my switch is located in the steering column shroud underneath the steering wheel - just a thought

Where will I find the otter swith, I'm having problems with mine?

Its on the metal part of your top hose into your radiator - there are 2 types a screw in one and a push fit one with a compression type bracket arangement.

It would be worth checking that you have an otter switch, mine did not and it had been bypassed by the previous owner so the fan was on permanently. All very well until the bypass connector came apart and it overheated in Henley town centre

I had to purchase a new top pipe, otter and hose kit to rectify the problem.

I had to replace my otter switch last year so I took the opportunity to piggy bag the terminals and fit an overide switch on the steering cowel just in case the switch ever fails again.
