Fog rear warning light telltale light

The other thing my S3 failed MOT on was failed telltale light for the fog rear warning light! Having never used the fog rear I don't even know where the telltale light is! Normally the light is mounted in the switch, but mine has the rotary switch with no bulb around it. Is it one of the bulbs on the dash or is it somewhere else?

my S3 also has the rotational switch for the rear fog and the warning light is in the top left of the centre warning light panel below the clock.

Maybe the warning light bulb has blown...

mind you the lights are so dim I need to shine a torch on them to see if they are lit !

Yes I found the "pattern" on the instrument cluster (bottom right below the clock on mine) which then means I have to get in behind the dash (horror of horrors!) just in case a bulb's gone. Thinking about rigging a temporary light off the back of the switch just to get through MOT and then do it properly once I'm back on the road again (the idea of having a weekend car is you get to drive it at weekends!!)

Good - as long as you are sorted... I wondered whether the light was so dim it could not be seen by your MOT tester in daylight.

I don't believe this! Started rooting around under the dash to find out how the fog telltale light was fitted and I find a small red indicator lamp, tucked up under the stering column cluster! It was there all the time!!
