Came off the boat last night and the lights have started misbehaving.

I haven't got to looking at it yet but this is the following problem....

I can only get sidelights to work as if I had only moved the switch to it's first position rather than all the way.

The flash switch works fine as do all other lights.

I cannot select full beam or full dipped lights.

It may just be a fuse or the switch is knackered but any clues would be much appreciated !

Right check the fuse, then clean and lube the rear light clusters, then tackle the crap interior connectors that TVR use for the headlight multiplugs (near the rad) as I have had no end of problems with these. Also the multiplug that goes on the back of the light switch may be loose (the pins can come out of the housing)

I also found cleaning the connectors in the steering column stopped my car letting people in front of me of it's own accord by flashing the main beam.

Try the headlight relay in the main fusebox. I switched mine over with the cooling fan one when that packed up and have not replaced it yet and that gives me exactly the symtoms you describe. (I'm not doing much nightdriving at the moment....)
