PIcked her up advice required

Well I've picked her up and got her the 160 miles back home, what a noise and what a pleasant suprise, much better build quality than I was expecting, even the heater worked well. Well impressed with her, few stone chips and marks as you'd expect but everything else is spot on (or will be with a new set of tyres on), going to get the specialists in Blackpool to give her the once over to be on the safe side but seems OK.
Couple of things I have noticed thus far:-
Floor mats knackered - where do i get another set, any idea's?
Front indicator lenses not at their best - again where to source replacements?
Travelling back up the M6 at 70-80MPH, I got 13 volts, oils pressure around 70 and temp around 90, how does this seem to you more experienced S'ers?
Finally Unleaded or 'Super' Unleaded?

Easier just to go to a Kia dealer - they are only £3.50 or so each - you'll spend more than that on petrol before you find one in a scrapyard.
The readings on your guages seem fine - but this is a TVR and no two cars will EVER be the same!
These guys mats are OK, though for some reason they do not do a green carpet......... They also do a fuller set to include "parcel shelf" if req'd.
I've got a set recently and they are OK. They do fit perfectly. Quick delivery too.
I'd Watch having the aluminium heel pad though as I've found my heel can catch on it occasionally.

The lenses are still available via quite a few sites. I got brand new LDV Sherpa ones (which are the original) easy and they only cost £15 incl post and package. Just typed in Sherpa van LDV into search engine and tried a few numbers.
Autostyle did my mats and very pleased, except the parcel shelf mat isn't quite big enough.
My guages read 13 volts, temp anything between 70 and 90 depending on load and oil is a 50 psi or just below (fitted new sender which seems to send a low reading). Fuel goes up and down depending on which cornere I am going round.

Ok, set of Kia lenses ordered. Parts guy couldnt believe they were for a TVR!! They've gone up, £4.21 each now!
Had a poke around underside and all looks goood though it would benefit from a waxoil, history file shows it's a couple of years since it was done last but doesnt look like it's ever been out in the rain. I'll get it done at service time or maybe have a stab myself when the weather picks up.
I noticed the old mats were knackered and also wet, think the garage has powerwashed the car and thats the result. the other thing I noticed after removing the mats was a 50p size hole in the drivers footwell floor, whilst I'm not overly thrilled I'm guessing it's not the end of the world? I've looked in the passenger side and it looks like there is a plastic gromit fixed in with some sort of rubber sealant so looks like thats been the same. It's right in the middle of the footwell, any thoughts?
Plenty of oil in it and it still looks clean(ish) to so aside of the floor sorting the only other thing is a new set of tyres, any particular breed go well on these?

Sounds like the gromits been taken out of the drivers side to let the water out !
Think you will find (as is mine) any leaks seem to send the water under the drivers feet !!
Take out the gromit seems to be the quickest way to get rid of the water !!!

it Auto Style did a grat job for me. Had mine done two years ago. They're based in Hungerford, right by the train station ( if anybody is looking who happens to be nearby). Ask for Les, top man, made a template there and then out of brown paper, done in the week complete with leatherette piping, heal pads, both sides (not metal) and for an extra charge will engrave the TVR logo into the mats - looks the dog do dars!, If you speak to Les send him my regards and tell him, he should be paying me for commission!!!!!

How long ago was that? They were discontinued last summer and none of the usual suppliers, even LVD, could get them. The ones that are available cost a mint - there were 2 on ebay last week for £40 a pair. The original LDV price was less that £6 each.
Maybe somebody else has started making them but the market for mid-80's Sherpas can't be that big - most of them were rusting to bits by the time they left the showroom.
I found a site that would supply new originals buit like you say it was £40, even the online breakers wanted £25, so £8 for 2 brand new Kia ones, can't go wrong.
So are we saying a hole in the floor is a good thing? Surely better to take it out for drainage and then replace the gromit? Dont intend going out in rain but you never know in this country and wouldnt want to ruin a new set of mats, so should the hole be filled back in? If so where can I get one of these gromit things (or something else suitable)

If I was you i would leave the hole. That way, you leave the house in sunshine, you park and then it rains. If the roof or seals leak then water may fill up the foot well. Leave the hole and it drains away. So thats a good thing eh ! Also if you mainly drive in the dry then you have no problem of damp or moisture coming back up through !

Mine leaked when i first got her, lovely smell etc.... soon tracked it down to the seal on the windscreen header.

My twopence worth Use the best (dearest!) petrol you can. My V8 loves Optimax but will 'suffer' Tesco's unleaded - at a price - tickover is sometimes lumpy on cheap juice.
If the hole stays make a 'baffle' to fit under the car, simple piece of inner tube or the like held with self taps over the hole with a slight droop or bow to stop water entering but allow internals to drain. However finding the leak is the proper way to go - and so much fun!!
