Good News......................and Bad News

Got a call last week from the garage who service and MOT my S2. Quote - 'Your tiv has just flown through its MOT............but we have noticed the start of a leak on your rad, what do you want to do?'

So instead of a nice small bill for an MOT (and Waxoyled chassis), I got a nice pre Christmas spanking of the wallet. Having said that, it does not cost as much to run as I thought it might. I now want to take it for a good run (rain, rain go away)to make sure the system is totally airlock free - the garage did say it was a bugger to do..............Anyone else forking out at the moment, so I don't feel alone?

I'm in the middle of a chassis replacement on the S3 (costing plenty) and have not long ago blown the engine on my V70R (running toooo much boost) bill for that so far is over 3K, as the saying goes theres always someone worse off.

Lots! - but I'm thinking of doing a body off respray and chassis refurb. in the next couple of years. No pressure at present as the chassis seems sound but as it will be 20 years old by 2009, I reckon it will need doing anyway.

at last year service and MOT I needed a new radiator on my V8S (which was a recon from an S3), this year steering rack gaitor needed replacing ...but small(ish) price to pay for 5000 miles of

I changed the rad on the S3C, it's not a bad job at all really, I seem to remember just over £100 ish for the part. Stretching my brain cells a bit, but I think its a sherpa unit turned upside down.

Pretty straightforward to fit, (much easier than the wedge rad I fitted) Just remember to run it up to temperature with the cap off to release air, and bobs your uncle.

Basically Sherpa headers etc, but a different core - the Sherpa unit doesn't fit directly. And yes it is upside down so the drain cock becomes a bleed screw.

Just fitted new shocks and springs, 400 quid, ouch, new rear screen being fitted, 60 quid, steering rack lower bearing, 30 ish quid and then leather dye, another 30 ish quid. Ooh my bank balance, on top of Crimbo. So at the moment I`m only thinking of silicone hoses, but what price a huge TVR
