removing cat. from my V8S

Hi everybody

Does anyone have experience in removing the catalytic converter from its V8S?
What are the benefits regarding power and torque?
are there any risks?

I removed the cats from my S3c replaced with cat replacement pipes. The difference was noticable the engine ran better reved better, I would say a slight increase in torque. I now have a V8s pre cat. I just replaced the exhaust, manifolds and Y piece with a stainless system from ACT. The difference was great the car now pulls strongly and revs well. I think I have just regained lost power that was lost from the poor exhaust system. My old system was full of holes, one of the manifolds cracked. The amount of carbon that can build up in the cats over time can effect the exhaust gas flow. I would suggest looking at the manifold and rest of the exhaust. If these have holes cracks I would wait and replace the whole system. ACT do a gas flow y piece and manifolds. The sound of the pre cat is lovely.
