Hazard warning light problem

my S2 has been stood unused for a few months and the MOT has run out so im going through the checks to get it ready to be MOT'd again and have found the hazards only work with the ignition on now. Also the clock and radio only work when the ignitions on too. Not wanting to drag the entire dash and loom out, can anyone point me in the right direction? i suspect a dodgy earth, but where do i look? Also another numpty question, but wheres the fuse box on an S2?

radio should only work with ignition on otherwise it would drain battery as concerns hazards
check the indicator connections at the front as these tend to get grotty and short out

Agreed - I think they all do that.

Can't see how that would cause them only to work with ignition - might be me though

Pull down the panel above the passenger footwell - the fuse box and ECU are up there.

I suspect the Hazard Warning relay which is up there beside the fuse box. Without getting a wiring diagram out (which is only a rough guide at the best of times - it's a TVR!) I can't think of anything else.

According to the diagram I have, the ignition needs to be on for the radio to work,(the reason most saloons ie Reps Cars changed to being able to have the radio on when the ignition is off is because they were leaving the ignition on doing paperwork in layby’s and burning out ballast resistors in the mid eighties).
I suggest you check the 15amp fuse with the 2no Purple/Red wires on one side and 1no Brown/Blue on the other, The Brown /Blue is a permanent feed to this fuse so doesn’t go through the ign switch, the Purple/Red wires go to the Clock And Hazards respectively so if they’re both not working the fault must lie in the fuse or before it,Ie the Brown/Blue (Has it come off the back of the fuse Holder?? Or is it loose at is other end where it joins with 3 others the same colour and 1 no Red wire)
I only have the diagram in the Steve Heath book so that’s what I am working from.

thanks for the replies, will check thru your suggestions and get back with findings later in the week.
sorry for confusion re radio, i meant that when the ignitions off, it loses the memory for the stations, rather than actually playing music when the ignitions off, so i suspect that the permanent live for the station memory isnt working correctly.

Ah right! - in that case, sounds like the fuse as mentioned above
