HELP NEEDED V8S BRAKE SERVO

Hi all. Was doing a bit of post summer cheking and felt a bit of rust on the bottom of the brake servo so took it off and it is rotten on the bottom of it. Can anyone tell me what car it is out of. Checked some old forums but could only fine guys talking about the s3 who said it is out of a Saab 9000. Is that the same as the v8. Mine is a 1992 car. The thread also started to talk about ford ones so I am not sure.Is the chim and griff ones the same

Don't bother analysing this too much!
Speak to tvr carparts.com, They should be able to get you
a replacement in about a week. At least they did for me! I understand that the servo is also shared with the Chimaera.
Dead easy to fit - just put a good bead of silicone around the mounting plate when you offer it up to the bulkhead.
I have read some posts on here around different clevis pin fittings - but mine fitted straight out of the box. (Just for interest - I think its a Ford servo)

If it's like mine it'll be the Ford unit, but I agree: get it through TVR Car Parts, they aren't expensive and you can be sure you're getting the right part.

Yes just had another look at the fluid resivoir and it is Ford. Was thinking if it is the same as The Chim /Griff it is protected from the elements. Do you know if they are the same as the v8s.

Yes, the V8S "Ford" servo & m/cyl is the same Girling unit as on the Griff/Chim. It originates with a Mk3 Fiesta e.g. Mk3 Fiesta XR2i (non-ABS) should come up with the same parts as the TVR.

However, in the end you would pay much the same price at a motor factor for these parts as you would going to TVR Carparts. Also, if you go to a motor factor, mistakenly buy the wrong Fiesta servo and then take it back complaining that it doesn't fit your TVR, you might look a bit silly!

Just to add, a secondhand griff/chim one would fit and you would expect it to be rust-free, but you might prefer to know it was a low mileage example.

I think I will try Bells Hill as I have got good newish stuff there before. They seem to be very helpfull and I don't think they would send a bad one.
