2.9i Engine - I May need one

Bummer, been driving the car quite hard for the last week or so and notice a low humping noise for the engine when power is on, sounds like the big ends are on their way out but until further investigation not sure.
So in the mean time do any of you guys know where I could get a engine from?
I'm going to have a chat with Booster to find out how hard it is to get a 24v engine installed or even a V8 and what else is required.

That's a shame, I have just given Jamie at Castle race engines a spare 2.9 I just had lying around with the brief to get me 220bhp and we are planning a joint venture marketing these engines, you could have been our guinea pig if you had held off on the loud pedal for a bit longer.

It depends how you look at it.
Fitting a secondhand Cosworth engine is cheap apart from wiring, headers etc but it is after all a second hand engine. If you rebuild the Cossie then I would be looking at our option to save money
If you are only modifying the internals of the original 2.9 engine but also regrinding crank, replacing shells, pistons and the like, you are not only keeping the car looking original but ending up with a new engine that hopefully has approaching the power of a V8S. Some may prefer this more original looking option.
Further to this, Jamie is also looking at a less expensive option of head porting only and IIRC Podie got quite good power figures from the head work.

We are looking towards December / January time for power graphs etc, as for costs...we are aiming at it being a genuinely cost effective route to take, but it must also be a reliable route as well, so until we can finalise the spec, costs wont be available.
Hopefully, we will have 3 different options, but of course each option could be tailored further to your needs / requirements.

I'm still waiting for the engine, Derek has been chasing but no time scales at the moment. Need an engine soon I'm missing the old girl. Plus I need to re-new the brakes and respray the Car.
