Door Trim

Hi can anyone tell me where I can get the narrown wood effect door trim that goes across the door card similar to the wedge?

Try and send out a call to LeeBee - he used to have these sort of things. He did me a lovely replacement pair in ally which IMHO were better than the wood as i had no other wood in the car.

What about the glove box handle?

I would like to remove these two bits of 'wood' as well.

Yes they are ally underneath.

If you go to my site at www.tvrgit.com and then navigate to the previous diary pages for September 03, you'll see how I took mine off, removed the chipped wood effect and polished them up.

Don't know about the glove box handle - mine doesn't have one.

I am just doing mine at the moment. Mine are steel - really - honestly! I have sent them off to be chromed at a cost 0f £70 quid. Im also havin the door cards retrimmed in leather. Will post some pics if i can figure it our when its all done

The glove box handle is wood on my S2. I'm considering painting this and the door trims matt black to match the rest of the instruments, if I can ever find the time to take the doors apart.

Don't suppose anyone else has ever done this? I'm not really keen on these bits of wood either...

On the other hand, I'd quite like to keep the car as original as possible and I'm not sure if the end result might turn out a bit naff.

hi everyone just bought a tvr v8s

I've used a length of 1/2 round hardwood strip (12mm width) available from B&Q or suchlike - cut to length and round off each end. Varnish (several coats)with one of the 'coloured' varnishes to match existing as best you can.
Then secure to the door card using 3/4" x No.4 brass woodscrews.

I think its a good match and looks professional.
