HI,
BEEN ON PISTON HEADS SINCE I BOUGHT MY CAR IN MAY, SOME GREAT TIPS, SO I THOUGHT I'D BETTER INTRODUCE MYSELF...........
BOUGHT MY 89 S2 IN MAY 24HRS BEFORE I WAS GOING ON AN AROUND EUROPE TRIP WITH FRIENDS. GOT BACK FROM BRUMMY 1OPM THURS ON FERRY 4PM FRI, DROVE AROUND EUROPE AS FAR AS PISA AND BACK AGIAN THRU ALPS ETC. 2200 MILES IN TOTAL, AND THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS WITH CLUTCH, SLAVE LEAKING, TOPPED UP AND AWAY AGAIN. OTHER THREADS WERE WORRYING ABOUT POWER ETC, MY FRIENDS HAD A 996 PORSCHE AND A V8 WESTFIELD, KEPT UP WITH THEM NO PROBS, NOT BAD FOR A £3K CAR COMPARED TO £50K PORSCHE AND A £9K WESTY. FEW JOBS NEED DOING TO GET IT DECENT, REPLACED FRONT SHOCKS/SPRINGS (GAZ £250 FOR PAIR) CHANGED CAR HANDLING, EXHAUST CASKETS NEED REPLACING AND JOINT REPAIRED, WOULD LOVE TO RE-UPHOLSTER INTERIOR, COST?? AND A FEW OTHER BITS AND BOBS.
PS ANY OWNERS IN THE NORTHEAST (DURHAM,NECASTLE AREA)

I am in Newcastle with my S3 and there are a handfull of others that I know of, a dark blue one owned by WORGC from this forum a lighter blue one in Gosforth owned by a chap called Rainer and a white one owned by a chap called Graham in Cramlington - I have seen a couple of BRG ones but don't think they post on here also I have heard of a blue V8S in Newcastle city centre and a red one flying around - why not come to the TVRCCNE meet on the 2nd Sunday every month at the Premier Lodge near Newcastle airport - I have only been a couple of times myself but would be good to see another S there.

I'm in central Newcastle - I've only had the S for a few months but unfortunately I've been away for most of the monthly TVRCC meetings during the summer. Chances are I will keep the S2 on the road for a while longer so there's still chance for me to introduce myself.
It seems like there are one or two other S series cars around here, as noted by Harry. I had my first spot here and it looks like there is a fairly active group of PH'ers in the North East. I didn't manage to make either of their Toon Hoon runs, but I think they also meet on a monthly basis - have a look in the North East forum.

got a sore thoat so TURNED CAPS LOCK OFF..........def up for a meet, my mot ran out on fri 13th (hope its not an OMEN!)once i get a few bits and peices sorted out on it, ill give you a call and meet up.
The trip round europe was great, even got to see F1 cars and drivers at Monaco before the Grand Prix. I done it last year in a Westy, S def more comfortable!!. Planning on keeping this one for a bit, having too much fun.Looking at different route again for next years jaunt, but will alway include swiss alps, cant beat it.

Welcome aboard, good choice of car, there seems to be quite a few in the North east, I was up in hartlepool at the weekend (where I am from originally) and saw an S2 BRG, it wasnt you was it Yuaman????? Enjoy and hope to see you all at S-club this year. Hi there, ANOTHER new owner here!

I cant drive it on the road until late november as ill be 21 then and be able to get insurance!!! the pain!
I live in York but i have been to a few meets and drives with the north east pistonheaders - all fantastic fun. The toon hoon 1 which i went on was ace - you should keep an eye out for the next one.

Hi Gary & Tom, excellent news that there are some more S series "up north". Tom, I'm just outside Wetherby so may see you out & about. I've had mine for 3 1/2 years, used all year round and still never "spotted".Another, Another new owner...
just bought mine on saturday and didnt notice the NE meet on sunday until too late... is it well attended ? I will make an effort to get there next month... anything else going on in NE before then ? I'm in Hexham but work in Huddersfield during the week...
I've got a list as long as my arm of things to do and bits to replace. whats the best forum for advice ? this one looks better attended than the TVRCC site.

I finally made it on Sunday, despite having the car since July. Apparently there were 28 TVRs there - but only three S Series cars. Met some nice people, weather was great, will definitely go back.
That's my impression, too.

Yes I would like to do that... can you tell how its done ? I have an avtar picture located in mydocs on my pc... how do I pick it up from there ?
Go to 'My Info' on the menu, select 'Profile' and you will be able to see all your settings including your Public Profile. There's a space for your picture here - just browse through 'My Documents' to find your picture and upload it from there.
Looking forward to seeing your car.
