V8S on E-Bay

Does anyone know this V8S for sale on ebay?

It is one of the first and I wondered if anyone could tell from the reg whether it had the "proper" chassis or one of the early versions?

It looks quite nice, I'm watching it out of interest.
Mind you, I would say it would need a good poke about underneath. Low miles, been stored... I would be under it like a mole checking the chassis for corrosion. If it has been stored and not treated then it may well be a bit nasty underneath.

It may be a peach, but I would be tempted to have a look, or at least ask the relevant questions / ask for pictures. Then if you were to bid and buy, if it wasn't as described then you could walk away. (Sale of goods act and all that malarkey)

nice looking S though, it's certainly cheap for the miles.

Silverback is right watch for the chassis rot and that it has the V8S not the early S3 chassis

I had a look at it on thursday,it seems fairly clean,the guy says it has been stood for a few years as he lost interest in it,I had a quick look at the chassis and it has peeled then been oiled,as it had been ***sing down so I didn't get right underneath,the engine sounded ok,dash is peeling,one craze mark on the bonnet,oddly it was mot'd last november which on reflection seemed odd unless thats when it came out of storage also inside the rear wheelarch appears to have been undersealed.If I was going to bid I'd get it up on ramps,but I'm definately not going to bid on it.He does have relevant MOTs to prove the mileage though and he is a motorcycle mechanic so it should have been looked after.It has synthetic oil in it and the rear arms looked decent at the front end.Sorry I wouldnt know the differences on the Chassis ie old or new,it had much beefier arms than mine.
Interesting Ebay name though!!

The one on PH went for £6100 - that's a damn cheap V8S for someone, lets hope it has been bought by a future ph'er.....

that was close. in the mid of week i placed 6000 on it. i was thinking well its going to go for more at least 8K. and i then today i was close off getting it. and i all ready got a s1 and restoring my s1. so finding another plcae to but a v8. that was going to be fun. a cheap v8 tho. thanks who every but the last bid in. 14sec left and they but it in.

I wasn't going to bid because I was really expecting it to go for £7.5-£8k.It was definately worth the paid price,I could have absorbed chassis repairs easily at that price if required.

Exactly, at 6k you can easily afford to lose a chassis refurb, damn cheap car that.
