Whats inside my exhaust ??

Hello All,
I have recently renewed the rear driveshaft C.V. joints, prop U.J's and Diff on my S3 and unfortunately must have damaged something inside the exhaust box - the system is a stainless steel sports one that I am told is not original so my question is, does anyone know whats inside as I am contemplating having repaired as apposed to going to the expense of a new one as the rest of it is in perfect nick.

Well mine was a tad too noisy (surely not!) but when dropped the top had split and a chunk fallen off. when I looked inside there wasnt much there only a bit of baffle material so had a new plate welded on...whats the damage with yours? is it noise related? mine when replaced sounded like a coke can rattling at idle and on further inspection I found I had re-fitted it too high and it was vibrating on the chasis.
