I would like to gauge responses & feeling about the subject of ''chips'' and not the kind you put salt & vinegar on!! & power boost valves. My previous sportscars have not been ECU managed and so Ive played around with cams and heads & carbs. But now my S2 is running well I would like to perhaps give it just a little more power and pull, perhaps looking for say 185 or 190 Hp instead of its 168 (cant afford to upgrade chasis / brakes etc so dont want to go too mad you see - but I am replacing shocks & springs) Please can you give me any info / advice about both Chipping of the ECU and/or fitting a PSE power boost valve and what results would be gained. Thaks very much Giles

A chip will give about 10 bhp but will give better response. Where does this power boost valve go? Is it in the fuel line if so it just gives a bigger squirt of fuel from the injectors, giving more power. With either you would need to get set done. If you haven't already i'd fit a performance air filter. Talk to aldon automotive in birmingham a ring they seem to know there stuff.

Thanks. Yes the Power Boost Valve increases the fuel pressure as you apply more throttle and therefore provides stronger torque & pull in high gears. I know someone who has one fitted & says its the best mod he's done! Giles
