Chassis to Body Mounting Plates

I'm just in the middle of doing a body off restoration on my S1. I have got the chassis fully stripped down and I am just in the process of ordering the necessary steel. I've got the outrigger tubing but not the plate for the two triangular gussets that support the body at the front outriggers.

The problem is - the plates on my chassis have rusted so badly that they have expanded and I cannot tell what the original thickness was. Can anybody else who has done this job tell me what they should be! I have already ordered some 3mm or 1/8 plate for some of the other brackets and I'm hoping the body mounting plates might be the same - it would save me having to order yet another thickness!!

I would have thought 3mm would do the job nicely.

3,4,5 would do any thing less would be a bit thin
