I sometimes get a non-functioning or bouncy speedo on cold or wet days after I first start the engine and move away - this sometimes last for seconds or minutes. On one occasion it lasted for half an hour with engine starts and stops in between as I went about my business.

However, this morning, just as I entered my local town after driving 60 miles, I first had bouncing of the needle between 0 and 50 mph indicated, and then was told I was doing 0 mph for about a mile. Then a bit more bouncing followed by a working speedo.

It seems my Tiv is keeping me on my toes, straying from recognised behaviour. It's possibly retribution for getting its tail feathers wet those couple of months ago.

Graham (at present eating crisps while sitting in a chair doing 0 mph)

99% of the time it works fine, so I guess it must be a loose connection.
