The new suspension is now all fitted and set up. Its the GAZ kit for the TVR S series with GP8 dampers and 375lb - 300lb front/rear springs.
Fitting was dead easy apart from the RHF camber adjust had seized solid. So there was the 'ritual shedding of blood' that accompanies any such triumph of brute force over years of neglect....
Preloads were set to give a 165mm/175mm ride height (under chassis rails) but there was considerable droop (10 - 12mm) after a few days of running. I suspect that this is normal? Wound up the preload another 10mm front and back and remeasured after a few days. Now 163/175mm.
Damper settings +12 front and +25 rear (clicks from full soft).
Already it is clear that the car feels better than I can ever remember. Rear squat has almost dissappeared and the front feels so much better controlled, I may even back the front off a few clicks and try that.
Played with the geometry for the last few weeks comparing results and ended up with:
Front camber -0,9° / -0,9°
Rear camber -0,8° : -0,6° (OK, OK I havent got the right shims.....)
Toe in 0,4°
It is now a positive
to drive.

Possibly. The data from TVR was for 0,2 - 0,4°. I've run it in steps between 0,1 and 0,4° and it was a balance between the tramlining effects of the RE720s and any residual bumpsteering. 0,1 was very light and given the 50 - 100kmh wind of the last 10 days it was not a pleasant experience
I might even suggest that the rears could go higher than 300lb?
Oh the old set were Koni adjustables. Given the comparison with the new ones, I wouldnt wish them on anyone
