OK, the noise the car makes is great and it drives like a charm. But there are a few little things that I need to correct in order to make it even better. So I got a list of all the things that are wrong with it now and I would need advice on them if possible.
1) the windows go up and down but very very stiff, have to pull them by hand to go up. In fact I removed the door trims yesterday to look if the mechanism was not rusty but all is perfect. The problem comes from the felt/rubber thingy all around being twisted in places so the window is sliding onto the rubber and makes friction -> not good. I found this #151 but I need to know if this is the right one and if anybody has actually replaced it. It is an easy enough job for a newbie like me to do it.
2) the doors are dropping and make it hard to close. I have read the threads on how to do but I have to admit I am a bit in a muddle, any chance someone helps out on this one? I have seen photos that explain how to get the thing off but what do I need to check and what do I need to replace?
3) the armrest has been sort of peeled by the previous owner and I would need to change the dashboard (color milky-coffee) phoned a garage in Bath but they dont have any like this one (twin bonnet pulls and Digital Clock) so has anybody got one of those (any color, will match the rest later) in good condition? I would recover it following what this dude did but I don't want to loose all the stitching as it looks nice. The last thing would be to get a late S1 or even S2 dash fitted but would that be possible? I know the clock is different but surely I can add it later, there is enough wiring. Would that make the car different (law-wise)?

4) the bonnet is not aligned properly, is it a pain to realign? what needs to be done? take the whole front out and check if something is bent?
Voila, I am sure I will come up with more but that'll do for now.

specialised parts youu may be able to get from www.tvrcarparts.com
interesting about the foam on the acceerator pedal where is it placed if it is on the top it may just be the rubber that has worn away you can get replacements from david geralds or again tvrcarparts .
bonnet is held on by 2 bolts but adjustable in 4 directions do a search on here for bonnet alignment ,as there is a good reference article by greenv8s shouldn't need to take the bonnet off
someone else had a similar problem with the centre console and recovered it i am sure they are still posting here and may have instructions again it may be worth doing a search of centre console

The replacement should fit OK ... but where would you get one?
What about staining the leather to the same colour throughout?
Frosts do a leather restorer and stain, or is the knap on the console worn off? Re-covering is an option that I would not have thought that expensive if you can get it out and tag all the electrics.

There is a TVR breaker in Bath that has many parts (so it seems) so he might have a S2 dashboard but asked him already for a S1 and he said he has none.
Recovering could be an option but I don't want a half job so if anybody knows someone around Portsmouth I'd appreciate it (might as well get the Yellow pages out).
I could also darken the lot, including seats and panels but then again, would that be a suitable option?

Most cars are actually half leather, meaning that only the seat fronts are leather the rest is vinyl. The breaker in Bath is probably Bell Hill, I assume, they do have a lot of parts, although they are pricey.
For the trimming find a small local trimmer, get prices from a few, I did and got a big difference in pricing.

with regards to your door alignment, I think it is covered in s series website, but briefly, remove the door panel, held on by a screw on end of the armrest, and remove the speaker, put your hand up inside and feel for a small nut which secures the top part of the armrest near the hinged end of the door.
the panel should now be gently prised away from the door and lift upwards to pull the top lip off of the window frame.
you will see the hinges top and bottom, but to gain access to the top one, remove the aluminium frame that the glass slides up an down in, secured by screws on the outside and a nut down inside the door.
the hinges have a large bolt on the middle and either side of it are two smaller bolts.
check that the middle bolts are tight, and then slacken the two smaller ones top and bottom, only slacken enough to lift door up and down, move to hieght required , tighten up, check door closes properly, repeat if necessary, probably many times, then put it all back together.
this should take about 1 hour per door as it can be fiddly, but worth it when the door closes properly.
you can also adjust the locking mechanism and striker plate to improve things as well.

Will attack the buggers this weekend as the weather is nice nowadays
I have also read that sometimes the plastic bit in the middle (tube?) can be worn off completely giving a very ample drop. It seems that my doors are dropping by about 1" each side so I hope I don't have anything to change. Any way I can check that all the parts are still in good condition?

Thanks for the pictures, have seen them in the other thread. Also mine seems to be different as the lower part of the aluminium frame is not bolted on the bottom but on the side of the door. I'll take some pictures this weekend when the trim is out.
