I''m thinking of trading in my S3c for a V8S. Although the S3 is a brilliant car, I''d like a couple more cylinders under the bonnet. Are there any major advantages with the V8S (apart from the extra power)? Is it true that the V8S has better ground clearance than the S3?
Is there anything I should look out for when buying a V8S? Which ones are the best to buy? I assume the later the better?
Thanks,
Dan.
quote:Yes, limited slip diff, wider track, bigger brakes, better handling all round. And an unbeatable sound track. Green ones are best (Den's is green!) Cheers, Peter Humphries (and a green V8S)

Being even more controversial I always thought it was a shame about that huge lump on the bonnet (as opposed to lump under the bonnet), which completely fouls-up the lines of the car. Now... I understand that was actually designed for the 2L Turbo - not the V8S, so one could always fit the nose from the S3c an S4 and get the best looking S with the best engine! Rich...
V8 definitely as other drivers salute you with what I call "window down syndrome", as they listen in to the pipe music.
Tried the same when in my "other" car when a S3 came by, but put up the window fairly quickly as the music wasn't quite so sweet or loud (or could this be oncoming deafness with too many hood down fast runs?).
Green best for me.
