Can anybody tell why on my Series 1 2.8i the fuel return from the injection passes through a fuel cooler (looks like an oil cooler) before returning to the tank
Fuel coolers were fitted on some models.
Because of the high under bonnet temps on all cars with non-metal bodies a fuel cooler will stop fuel evaporation, which can lead to problems with hot starting.
Opening the bonnet can release a lot of heat and overcome this if you cant start your car when hot.
