Can any one help please i thought i needed unleaded heads but i fount a recipt so the heads have been reconditioned,
i have to keep adjusting one side mainly cylinder 5 exhaust tappet which kind of cures it for a while but now that one tappet has developed a noise i can't get rid of please help thank you.

I had a V6 with a worn rocker which had to be set with a dial gauge. When it was set with feelers the curved surface gave a false reading leading to an excessive gap.

Thanks for replying a friend at work thought it may be the same thing and for what they cost i might look at changing the rockers thanks

You might not have to replace it - if it was set to the right clearance it might be ok - a feeler gauge might be setting it wrong, because it's measuring across the wear curve.

Gunsons used to sell a tool called "Click-adjust" that could compensate for this - I don't know if they still do but the (more awkward) alternative is setting it with a dial gauge or micrometer
