sounds like a...?

Hi guys,
Last year I heard that the sound of the motor of my S3c was getting a different sound. Not so hollow and loud anymore.
Also my car bogs down a lot when accelerating.
Went to a tuner and he measured that the motor was running to lean (to much air). He adjusted it by squeezing the pipe of my petrol supply, thus increasing the amount of petrol in the mixture.
Must say: my car sounded like the old days
and was much quicker!!
Only after a while, everything has become the same as before the tuning.
What can be wrong??? Can it be the throttle pot??
