The S seems to be a way through which many people get into TVR ownership, but have some of us come by a rather more circuitous route? Usual route is S > Chim or Griff > Cerb but has anyone come the other way?

Anyone bought an S, 'upgraded' to something newer then come back to the fold?

I owned 3 M's when young, a yellow 1600M (RUK 562L), a yellow 3000m (TVR 91) and a Maroon 3000M (OAD 831M), it's taken some time to get back to one (via about 40 cars including an interesting 2279DN Firenza, Austin Healey, 'hot' Escorts and the like) - but I'm with an S now and really enjoying it!

I owned an early S1, BRG (E444 HLM) then moved on to a 96 4.0 Chimaera, then went back to an S3 which I currently have.

S's are a great way to enjoy all that is TVR without having to break the bank to do so !!

Ditto!! 1990 Monza red S2 (5 years, everyday car) > 97 4.0 Chimaera (18 months everyday car) > 1989 burgundy S2 (nearly a year, weekend car)

I bought an S2 as a stop gap so I could look for a good Grif and loved the S so much I bought a V8S and now dont plan to ever sell, that says it all? Once Id driven the S I drove the Grif/chim/Cerb and dont get me wrong they are fantastic cars, but they lose a little of the fun/grin factor. As a fun/sun car the V8S cant be beat...?

IMHO

What wheels do you have on your S in your profile picture? They look smart!

Hello Fellow Graham,

Have been meaning to change my PH name as have had the S a year now but having updated my profile photo several times only to find a few days later that the photo of the M is back on there have not got round to a name change.

Not entirely certain what make the wheels are to be honest they came with the car as well as the originals - I had both sets refurbed, fitted new rubbers to both and alternated until I made my mind up to keep these and then sold the originals - they are 17" - I have had some nice TVR centre caps made for them but the name racehart or something like that rings a bell.
