Does any body know if you can get poly bushes for the rear trailing arms of the S ?

If you can, where from and what kind of price are they ?

Cheers

Thanks for the information, I have already purchased the front from Superflex, was wondering if you can get the rear from anywhere?

Without getting too commercial, I can report that Powerflex measured up my car a couple of weeks ago and hope to launch a full kit for the S shortly.(including rear bushes and front roll bar)

Does that include the rather snazzy sleeved bushes, Derek?

Weeks is OK, I will be wanting a set of rears as soon as they are available !!

The reason I am after some is because I have new trailing arms and new bushes, the bushes are very very slightly too loose. although they have been pushed in with a vice, once the suspension is tightened up, the bush moves in the trailing arm rather than the rubber i.e. metal against metal. I'm sure this isn't right ?

Would Poly bushes be the answer?

Is this because you have overtightened the bolts and clamped the inner sleeve to the chassis? Normally with suspension bushes you would expect the sleeve to move relative to the bolt. The rather nice sleeved bushes that Gazman was using on his dampers are the exception, the bushes have two sleeves which act as a nice slick bearing, and the inner sleeve can be clamped to the chassis. Similarly where rod end bearings are used you would clamp the bearing inner to the chassis.

The bolts have been tightened to the specified torque and yes the inner sleeve is clamped onto the trailing arm, surely this is correct and the movement would be in the rubber bush, or have I got this totally wrong ?

nooo.. the inner sleeve *should* he held tight, the articulation is in the flex of the rubber .. if you have the inner sleeve rubbing on the chassis lug you'll wear through the lug.

I've just fitted a new o/s trailing arm to my V8S and the new bushes just dropped straight through the holes in the arm have loctited them in as a temporary measure and made some thrust washers up to try and stop any lateral movement but seeing as it took a day to fit (including taking it all apart again because the rearward facing tube was fouling the outer CV joint) i'm not at all happy.

I hope Powerflex get some bushes sorted soon because I can get considerable movement in my new std bushes and one reason for changing them was to eliminate the rear steer under accel/decel i get on track in low gears. I can't see it being any improvement at the moment

If they don't get the bushes up and running I'm going to rose joint my rear arms.

They are on the case Joo, I'll be seeing them Wednesday to drop off all the bits. Mind you SH agrees with you about rose jointing being a solution for a track/trackday car.
