So there I am sitting in a horrendous traffic queue trying to get our of the local retail park when that glorious V8S burble turns to spluttering and gagging (don't go there ) and she finally cuts out on me. So I spin her over a couple of times and she's having none of it. So ignoring the ar*eholes honking furiously behind me, up goes the front end for a look see. Certainly sounds like a fuel problem me thinks; judging from the way she stopped and no distinctive whirring of the fuel pump to be heard. So I crawl underneath and beat the fuel pump with a wrench as all the connections seemed OK - but she still doesn't want to fire. After the offer of a push from a kindly soul out of the now horrendous jam, I'm in the local Quikfit car park where they all ignore me! B*stards. I'm thinking fuses now - so I ease the underdash cover away and yep you've guessed it, out falls a bloody great birds nest of fuse box, immobilisor, miles of wires and god knows what else! In the midst of it is a molten blade fuse holder. So I break it off, strip the wires with my teeth and stuff it back into the remaining connector. Turn the key and . . . bingo. Back to Halfords I stroll, one blade fuse holder, 20A fuse and a spade connector please. A quick session with these & pliers, stuff the birds nest back where I found it and off I went to give the b*tch a bloody good caning for bad behaviour. She loved it and so did I .
