Right, after much ribbing about my rear screen which has been cracked pretty much since I bought my S four years ago, I've now booked it in to be replaced. It will also have the scuzzy wheels restored and the fuel guage fixed!

It will be like a new car

Seriously Ted, its good to hear you giving the car some TLC as it sounds like you are going to keep it for a while yet ...

Are you sure your screen didn't need replacing due to the loss of the S sight for a few days Ted.

I was having withdrawal symptoms myself over christmas dinner!

Dropping it into David Batty's for the new fuel guage sender. Whilst it's in, he's getting his man to do the screen (~£120) and sending the wheels off to Spit 'n' Polish (~£38 per wheel).

Nice one Ted, its such a famous car now, it deserves a bit of TLC.

Can you still get the fuel senders then, I thought they were pretty much unobtainable now - or is it the gauge that's rare?

David was going to bastardise one from a Griffith but then managed to lay his hands on two S ones. They are pretty difficult to obtain now from what I understand.
