V8S exhaust braket

I've lost the braket which holds the exhaust on at the back of the car, anyone know where I can get a new one please?

Which bit? On mine there is a strap welded between the two tail pipes with a hole in it, a bit of studding goes through this with a couple of nuts to locate it, the top of the studding is bent forward through 90 degrees to form a 'hook' which goes through the middle of a rubber bush bolted to the car. Is this the one you're talking about? If so, which bit of it are you missing?

Yeah these are a pain if not in right, I lost 3 before the garage adapted one with nuts at both ends to keep it in. Any garage should be able to do it, like Peter says normally its a 90 degree bend wthreads at one end, I got one with threads at both ends, as this was the only way it would atay in.

Yes, that's the bit, I can see the rubber buch with a hole in it and marks on the exhaust pipe where the braket used to be but it must have come off while I was driving, as when I got home the exhaust grounded going back into my courtyard. Only got the car in Decmeber and some ramps last month but could not rember what the braket looked like.

The plate which is wleded to the tail pipes is still there as it the nut but the plate which bends 90' to fix with the rubber bush has gone.

Get yourself down to B&Q and get a length of 10mm studding and a couple of nuts. Hacksaw to length, bend the end over 90 degrees and you're sorted.

Thanks for info, will be down B&Q on Monday, just have to get old nut off which it very rusted up, left it for now with penetrating oil on to try and free off, might have to hack saw nut off.

Been to B&Q and got a few bolts washers etc. Also got the remains of the old bolt off, just need to make braket which I have measured up but cannot cut / drill as I will wake the street! So nearly back on road again.

Sounds as if your exhaust is different to mine then? On mine the only thing between the exhaust and the mounting bush is a rod with a bend in it, secured to the exhaust with a coupe of nuts and just pushed through the bush.

It is the same but I'm missing the rod so making a braket to replace it, unless is the rod simply a long bolt bent to fit / could I make it / buy / adapt ???

My suggestion was to get a length of stud (threaded rod) bend the end over and you are sorted. Places like B&Q will sell a couple of feet of 10mm stud for a few quid.

All fixed, although there is still a small hole in exhaust further up (about under the gear stick). It can wait until the weekend.

One last question ... Should I let the rod move or should it be screwed tight up against the rubber mount ?
