V8S Speedo

Having read the posts lately on electrical problems,the speedo on my V8S never works when I first start the car. It starts working after about 10 minutes!!! I have checked the gearbox sender unit and connection look o.k.I thought if it was the sender it would go o/cct.All other instruments and equipment are working fine.Do the instruments have seperate earths? What is the easiest way to check the speedo connections?
Anybody got any ideas where to start first?

Unless you have acccess to an oscilloscope then you cannot do much. You need one to see if the digital pulse train from the sender is reaching the speedo. You can check for continuity and power with a multimeter. After that there is little you can do.
