I want to do a brake upgrade on my 1992 S3.
I do not use the car on track days so do not require anything fancy. Has anyone used the entry level upgrade by Tower Race Services, it seems reasonably priced. I am also considering new adjustable shocks with new springs. Any ideas on that anyone?

I upgraded the shocks springs and brakes on my S2 prior to sorting the power out.
Although I had ajustable shock fitter by tower view. I have only ajusted them once since they were fitted
(fairly common I think) So why did I go for ajustable ?
I also fitted Tarox (who were very helpfull) groved and drilled disks with performance pads. This made a big difference. I have the product codes if you fancy some easy DIY

I have fitted new trailing arms, new AVO Shocks & springs (adjustable) & new brake discs & pads this year.
The shocks are useful being adjustable as I played around with the settings for about 1000 miles until i was happyt with the "Roll Vs comfort" issue.
The front end takes a pounding if they are too stiff.
On brakes, I used EBC Grooved & spotted discs with EBC Green stuff pads, nice improvement over the old ones and you really have to be braking hard to get any noise from them.
After they are bedded in you will have some fun with them while testing their limits !
Have fun

I have been following the various comments on brake upgrades for the V6 S as this is something i have been considering.
My reason however is specifically for track day use.
I have owned my black 1990 S for the last 4 years and have attended track days at Donington 3 times, Snetterton twice, Cadwell twice and Curborough for fun days three times.
Until buying the S I had not driven on a circuit however I was amaised at its on track composure and ability to hound more exotic/powerful machinery (especially Chimera owners who 'generally' seem to go round corners like girls). The one area it appears weak is under breaking. This was highlighted during a tussel with a tamora (Mclarren Orange) at Cadwell this year.
The circuit is tight and twisty and the S is able to put its power down through corners but struggles to stop as quickly hence the Tamora cought up under breaking.
Up until this point, the standard brakes and suspension have been more than satisfactory so i am struggling to understand the need for anyone to upgrade these items for general road use. I am not saying don't do it, Im just questioning the need.

You are right SHPUB the S does suffer to some degree with brake fade on the standard disks/pads. However this has only happened to me a couple of times and on both occasions this was on track days under extreme conditions.
I have changed the pads to Tarox fast road compound and have not suffered on track since.
You will know better than I the need for good fade free brakes, as at your level this becoms a real issue but for general use on the road I have never found the need for constant extreem braking so have not experienced any problems.
Again im not saying dont upgrade this is entirely up to the individual. Im just questioning the need when only using the car for normal road use.

Because its fun !!!
Good braking ability is as much part of the driving experience as good acceleration.
However my old discs had ridges on them higher than the china wall ! I reckon they were original and the car is 12 years old, so they needed changing.
The price difference wasnt huge to have grooved discs, so my question is ..... why not ?

Thanks for all the replies to my original message. First of all on the brakes. I was considering a brake upgrade because the discs look original with the usual ridges etc. and I just like messing with the car. The adjustable shocks were to get rid of the grounding when I have all the gear, including the kitchen sink loaded up for Le Mans. I will now get some prices and make a decision. I will keep the site posted on progress. The red S3 inside the back cover of Nov. issue of Sprint is mine!
