After about three years of hesitation, I''ve finally decided to go ahead and buy my dream car - a V8S. One terrible thought comes to mind though : will it fit into my garage. My previous motor, a Carrera 3.2, just made it in at 4290mm long and its 1650mm width was well inside limits. Can anyone tell me how long and wide a V8S is. Fingers crossed.

3958mm Long and 1665mm Wide, (according to a road test I have here, I will double check with my owners manual when I can find it!) Cheers LeeBee

Thank god for that! If it had been too big to fit in my garage then it would have been game over and there's no car I want besides a TVR. My only worry now is how my neighbours will react to a noisy burbling car. Anyway, it's time to start the hunt. I'm thinking of buying privately since in my (not huge) experience, you can get a bargain if you're patient. The idea is to check out the car myself and then, if I decide on one, to put it into a tvr specialist for a more thorough check-over before I buy.

I may have a V8S to sell, may not be the cheapest but it's certainly very different!.

Sounds like a beast of a car for sure. The reason I like the V8S so much though is because it's slightly understated and 'classic' looking. A chimp or a griff is a bit more in yer face. From the sounds of it, your V8S is not so, er, subtle ;o) I'd love to find a V8S in good nick though, it's a car I plan to keep for a long time.
