OK I'm bored, so apart from all the Ford parts on the S series (and all the others we don't like to talk about!) has anyone got any parts on their S's from more exotic vehicles?, I have parts on mine now from a Jaguar XJ220 and have just got it another gift for Christmas from An Aston Martin DB7 (more Ford parts then!)

Cheers

On the S1(I think all S2 onwards had electic windows) the window winders are from VW. Not the usual Escort/Sierra.
If you want to replace the cheap looking black plastic ones either get ex Golf GTi or Sirocco

I'm not too sure but I think the air in the tyres may be the same as Rolls Royce use, I could be wrong though .

Wing mirrors from Citreon, same as S3/V8S/chim

As for Aston DB7, well it did start out as the new Jag but as part of the Ford 'stable' it came out as the DB7 so any Ford part that is also common to S's could be in there , but I'll plump for the ashtray

Knowing you Lee I reckon you've got round to sorting the boot lid with the high level rear brake light moulded into it......

LED Light from a DB7 ?

Ahh good guess, forgot about my bootlid actually and already have a light for it (somewhere!).Ok

XJ220 part = HT lead covers (now seat strengthening brackets under the floor!, didn't know they were off of an XJ220 or I might not have chopped them up!)

DB7 part = oil cooler (bit boring really but looks nice, well at the moment!)

Is the car ....in use.... as it were ?

Or has it been decommissioned to take part in further experiments ?

Any winter meetings on the cards for the S crew do you know ?

Christ Leebee, thought for a minute you had fitted a XJ220 engine in your car! did you get that other engine in or not. mine is coming on, should be ready in the spring. Can't make me mind up what to do with it when its done. Johno reckons I should run it and not flog it. But he flogged his and I'm considering my options. by the way, Ive got a set of plastic valve covers for the wheels off a rolls royce, does that count?
