This is probably a crime to admit, but I''ve owned an ''S'' for 6 months and have yet to buy Steve Heath''s ''S'' Series bible. Can anyone tell me where I can get a copy without having to wait the 4-6 weeks delivery time quoted by Amazon. Second hand copies also considered if anyone can bear to part with one !

The TVRCC had mine in 48 hours of order, get the new second addition one, rather than a second hand copy of 1st edition,. SP

The new edition is about twice as big as the original and, I believe, still at the old price.

What's the difference in the revised bible, and when did it come out. I got mine about 18 months ago (from the TVRCC office) - does this mean i've got to go out and buy another one to get more info! Woody

No, not quite that brave yet - but I just have a number of niggling things that I want to fix...i.e one door speaker not working, electric aerial not working, adjusting tappets. Nothing too serious !

Adjusting tappets... ! I have done the tappets on my car twice now. Each time that I've had the inlet manifold out (another story) both times I've got them slightly wrong. First time I used feeler gauges and they weren't too bad. Second time I thought I'd improve them and do them with a vernier (being very careful) really F&*^%d them up. If I were you I wouldn't bother mucking around with them and let someone at a garage do them for you. I will do just about anything to an engine at home but I won't bother with V6 2.9 tappets again. Tower View set the engine up for me after the last manifold out session (neede timing and adjustment due to the problems I'd had) incl. adjusting the tappets for £68 and they are now perfect. As for the speaker not working then it's possible the wire is broken between the door and and frame or the connections are so badly corroded on the back of the speaker. Be carefuul taking the door panels off making sure you have undone all the retaining screws and bolts as they can be fragile. As for the electris aerial I would be looking at the aerial lead from the cabin to the aerial which goes along the under the passenger door sill, over the wheel and into the boot as this of ten gets very corroded. It probably will turn out to be an earthing problem though. Notorious for crap electrics. Have fun though... Cheers Mark

Out of interest, how many speakers does the s have, mine appears to have 6 but I’m not sure if they are all connected. Have fun playing.

Thanks for the info guys - tappets sound like a job for the people that know ! Probably best to leave it for the time being. My S has just four speakers connected (well three at the moment), where are your other two speakers ?
