Dropping doors

Hey guys,

Lil bit of advice needed, doors on the S1 have dropped a little.
never really bothered me as only slight but does scrape the paint.
I have just spent thousands on a respray and obviously now it may become a little problem as i don't want it scratching.
I have bought ally s kickplates but i can't even fit these as door too low.
I know its fairly common so any advice on fixing greatly received

I bought replacement hinge bushes for £3 each from TVR car parts. Take care tho i think there are two sizes.

I have had a proper look today.
My doors have not dropped- stangely enough.
what it is, there are the bolt heads on the bottom of the door scraping the paint- looks like its done it from new.
any ideas on how to stop?

Hi James.

If its the same as mine, they are the bolts that hold the window regulator in place.
I solved the problem by replacing them with stainless cap head allen bolts. The heads were small enough not to scrape and they don't rust so they don't get all rough.
You'll have to take the door trim off. There are some 8 mm nut's that you can reach through the speaker hole. They are about 2 inches long though so you'll be there a while and you'll need a deep 1/4 drive socket.

Mine did the same so took bolts out alltogether and secured the window motor to the bottom of the door by a plastic pull-tie each side using the same holes.
Did the trick and is as secure as with the original bolts.
