Just laid under the S3 scraping off years of different coatings prior to repaint, (is this normal in a unheated garage when its -3 outside) when I noticed that the engine sump is just touching the ARB. Checked the engine mountings and they seem ok with no oil on them. Should it be that close ? Thanks

short answer no ,the should be a clearance of some kind however minimal as to how much i will have a look tonight and get a picture

Just removed the ARB and there is a bright shiny mark on the top middle, looks like its rubbing on the sump. Good news is the sump appears to be ok. Now the nasty bit, new Engine mountings. At first glance it looks ny-on impossible to get at the bolts, here comes more spanner rash. Anybody got any pearls of wisdom to make it easier. Thanks
