Bottom Radiator to Water Pump Hose
Discussion
Driving home last night the bottom hose on the rad blew depositing coolant on the road. Thank god for girlfreinds and the RAC!!!! 4 days of ownership, so far so good!!
Now I have to fix it, does anyone know the part number for a S2 2.9 or tell me where I can get a replacement hose from?
Mine looks like it was a standard hose that has been cut and extended with a pice of metal pipe so that it reacheds the radiator. Is it a standard Ford one?
Any assistance gratefully received.

Just changed all my hoses a few months ago while i was having the radiator fixed. I hunted around all the local factors for straight/ford hose that would fit, found nothing. Got the new set from David Gerald’s, not that expensive either; I think the hose you want was only about £10 plus p&p.

Don't know the details, but I remember last time I was in at Tower View Dave showed me some stainless pipes he'd had made up for the V6 S cooling system.
I have just replaced most of my hoses and found Tim Lamont at www.actproducts.co.uk/ extremely helpful. He does a range of silicon hoses in various colours, they are better quality than the black rubber ones, look great and last longer. He may be able to help with the metal pipe as well.
I replaced the top and bottom hoses with silicone ones on my S. They are 25mm internal bore. The metal pipes can be changed for S/S ones from Tower View aswell.
This also gives the additional bonus of the later type Otter switch which is set slightly lower than the early models and screws in rather than the Heath Robinson bracket thing.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone,
No luck talking to any of the usual Motor Factors. In the end I bought some universal water pipe from Halfords which is doing the job very nicely. It's not as close to the exhaust as the old one! Added the coolant and started her up and everything was fine. Went out for a test drive (once I'd checked the fan came on at the right time!) and all is well again.
Like the look of those silicon pipes though so I might be looking at doing a complete hose change in the new year to get everything up to spec.
