Cowls and fairings
Discussion
Oh yes, forgot to say, also found time to go to south London and chat to some plastics/perspex experts about the headlamp cowls and fairings project.
Taken some samples away to try out and get templates made. Now need some time to put the things together and sort some rubber profile beading from Woolies.:)

Tim.....
The enclosed lights on the Griff only operate the side lights and dipped beam.
The "fog lights" are effectively the main beam lights as it was considered that the heat generated from all the lights would be too much for the perspex cowl.
Well thats the jist of what it says in the Griff Bible IIRC.

Sounds like a load of old cobblers to me... witness the Ford Puma for one...
Ditto Podie... I reckon on using these chaps 2mm poly-something-carbonate sheeting as it transmits over 90% of the light, does not discolour, dose not scratch easily and is over 100 times stronger than the equivilent glass.
Cold set, as heat set is expensive, and I reckon you could lob a brick at it when its curved and it will bounce straight off!
Don't think the light from a mini headlamp is going to effect it especially as it will sit very proud of the lens itself.I doubt it will be possible to make them completely airtight either.
