wing mirror loose

there i was enjoying the sun when my drivers side wing mirror came loose.... didnt know if the thing would fall off so i headed home holding it best i could. A quick look in the steve heath book, and i was at that little grub screw... bingo, it worked but then i realized that as soon as i turned the mirror in the correct position, you couldnt get at the screw at all only when the mirror was upside down!... so how do you do it? somebody out there must know!! regards mark

I had the same problem this week with my drivers mirror on the V8S. I stripped the door panel down to find the securing bolts described in Steve Heaths manual and gasp!there was none there!How do I tighten this I ask?I then lifted the rubber guard under the mirror and could find no means of tightening it there. So I made an easy modification,totally hiddden below the rubber guard and now the mirror is very secure. E-mail [e-mail] if you still have the problem and I`ll let you know my rememdy!
