braking expert reqiured

I am looking to up-grade the brakes on my S2,have ordered braided hoses, but am toying with the idea of uprating the front discs but am concerned with the rear end as I don`t want to go to the expense of converting the drums to discs, so with better stopping power on the front will this adversly affect the characteristics of the car under heavy braking? ie: will I end up facing the other way?
has anyone else gone down a similar path and experienced any nasties?

black diamond do a nice dimple and grovved disc

i only went for 240 as a replacement to standards

You can always upgrade your calipers to griff 500 ones, this is what i did. 
They are granda calipers which use 260 disks, The S series uses sierra which are 240.

Only thing is you still use your standard size pad as the granada one doest fit???
After doing two trackdays in the dry and wet I can honestly say the brakes are FANTASTIC!!!!
And the car has been stable enough not to wory you on the track or road.
I was using the brakes so hard round sneterton that when I came back in you couldnt touch the alloys!

Well I screwed up and bought some 260 grooved and drilled disks for my S3 instead of the 240 i thought i was getting and had a sod of a job locating XR4 callipers, finally got some recon ones on the way (big red) I suspect the next thing is that I wont receive the carriers!and will need to source these....eventually I might actually get everything to fit back together!!
