On Friday i picked up my new (well it is to me anyway) cherry red V8S. I will admit that the weather conditions on friday were not the best and that travelling from berkshire to somerset in rush hour traffic down the M4 is not normally that appealing but it seemed that even all this could not wipe the smile of my face as i cruised or should that be crawled home. Sitting in traffic is not the best first outing in your new car (especially if it's a TVR) but I have to say as I looked nervously at the temperature gauge she did not faulter.
Sat - miserable raining all day long
Sun - Wow was that the sun i saw ?? - Rushed the missus out of bed and went for a little drive (before it started raining again) and with the top down it's even better...ahh the roar of the beast....even got respect from the local vicar as i burbled past the church!!.

Just wanted to say a quick thank you to all of those that helped with my questions over the last couple of months and look forward to meeting some of you at one of the pistonhead do's in the future. Cheers Ian

Well done Ian,

Welcome to V8S ownership. Somehow I knew you'd end up with a V8S when you left the Berkshire meet.

Cheers,
John.

Well done!!

May you (I know you will!) have that 'grin' for many a day to come. They just sound the nuts

First time I drove mine, apart from the test run, was when I brought her back from Chelsmford, p*****g down with rain, M25, soon got to respect it though!!

Spooky all this talk of rain, when I got mine it was pissing down and had to drive from York to the south coast, I soon learnt that a tank of petrol doesn't go far either .

Funnily enough I picked my V8 up in the rain and drove back from Worcester in a downpour.

On the rain theme, it happened to me too !!!

Picked up my S2 from Southampton and got 3/4 the way home to Oxford before it absolutely chucked it down on the M40. Got wet (the only ever time) but at least we got to test the windscreen wipers !

Adds to the fun, perhaps.

Met Smiles at BTaP - the previou sowner of Ian's V8S - top bloke... seemed a bit misty-eyed about selling the car to be honest.. still got a Tamora on order, so should be happy enough!

Hope the car is all you hoped for Ian (sounds like it is!)...

Enjoy - she is great. Shame you didn't have time to come to BT&P.

Hmmm, this is suspicious, seems many of us suffer some sort of initiation voodoo thing when we first pick up our S's...i too, picked up my car then had someone (kind lady) ram me up the backside 30 mins later, then sat in a 4 hour traffic jam for a normal 40min journey ...i too kept a nervous eye on the temp gauge but it came through with flying colours and has been a dream since!

Greetings !

Well Done Ian !!! Fancy taking the car to South dock to show the rest of the lads what proper sports cars look like?

What does your missus think and has she had a drive?
