Out on a run today and car started playing up and felt as if it was missing slightly.... sure enough got home about ten minutes later and a HT lead had come disconnected from the plug  so it had been fiing on 5 cylinders

re connected it and the car seemed to run ok....

the questions are....

1) do you think it will be neccesary to take out the plugs and clean them?

2) The HT leads were so hot I could hardly touch them.... is this right??
Has only running on 5 cylinders knackered them... they are only a £30 set from the local car shop...

3) Anything else you would recommend checking?

thanks

Worth keeping an eye on it in case the lead came off because the terminal was loose. Other than that, nothing to worry about.

Have to agree with Peter - as long as the terminal isn't loose, and the lead insulation hasn't been melted by touching something when it fell off, then there's nothing more you need to do.
