Hi,

new to this site...as i haven't got a TVR yet.. driven but never owned !!

hopefully TOPTON's S2 will soon change that..

It's up for sale, and I am interested in purchasing it.. but would value anyones honest opinion on it's condition etc.

TOPTON I will call you to discuss the purchase. But as said in emails I am not a mechanic and seek as much advice on the vehicle before parting with my cash !

IIRC Topton's car is in excellent condition if it's the one I'm thinking of. Stunnign looking car with the blended in bumpers and the round lights.

For ultimate peace of mind you could get someone like Rob Ingleby to look it over for you. He advertises every month in Sprint.

Personally I'd get an independent TVR specialist to look at it, if you are concerned.

Horses for courses. Not a fan of the styling but condition looks pretty spot on. These cars are getting on a bit these days and I think an independant inspection is a must if you dont know exactly where the danger areas are on each particular model. Under the bonnet is unlikely to be a problem as the engines are pretty solid. Worst case is that it needs a new engine, and since they are about £3.50 we gave ours away to a fellow PHer a few months ago.

The chassis is the main point of concern. If you get one with a good chassis and body, at worst it'll only take a few ££s to make it an A1 car.

Should I comment on my own car why not! Flew through last MOT, Engine emissions are spot on. Chassis is rock solid. Everything works. Want to move onto V8 territory Thats the only reason for selling.

Comment on your own car????? Absolutley not!!! I must make one comment though, I noticed it had a sweeeeeeet exhaust note as you shot off for fuel at Ferrybridge on way to SCH3.

The exhaust was on the car when I got it, stainless right through. I did repack the silencer box a while ago and weld heavier stainless back on to stop it resonating.

Ferrybridge!! That was the Tvr rescue service day. Bike crash on the roundabout. Lady pillion was laying on the floor not moving, I was on the phone to 999 when another "good samariton" was trying to pull her up to make her better. Nearly pulled her arms out
