Spare wheel

Hello all. I am starting to get to grips with what needs doing on my new S3. I started by getting all the bits and bobs out of the boot to see what was there and I noticed that the spare wheel wasn’t attached to anything. There is what looks like a projection of the chassis with captive nut attached that looks like it ought to hold the wheel, but I can’t get the wheel anywhere near it. Can some one put me out of my misery please?
Also, is there supposed to be a wheel cover and a roof cover?

It bolts to the captive nut on the left. It should fit, if it is the usual space -saver rear wheel.

Andy, thanks for this. I have this wheel, but the whole thing will not fit under the rim of the boot in the same way yours does and still marry up the wheel nut with the captive nut. What size tire do you have? Mine looks new so it may have been relplaced with the wrong one. That’s all I can come up with
